The Shire of Cuballing continues to monitor the corona virus (COVID-19) and take measures to protect the community and minimise potential impacts of COVID-19.
The Western Australian Premier, Mark McGowan has released the COVID-19 WA Roadmap to help get Western Australians back to work safely and begin the process of restarting the State’s economy. The COVID-19 WA Roadmap has been developed in conjunction with the National Cabinet principles and is based on the best health advice for WA.
On Monday 18th May 2020 Phase 2 of the COVID-19 WA Roadmap commences with:
- indoor and outdoor non-work gatherings lifted to 20 people;
- cafés and restaurants can reopen with meal service only, limited to 20 patrons and the four square metre social distancing rule applied;
- places of worship and community facilities to re-open, limited to 20 patrons;
- non-contact community sports limited to 20 people, with minimal shared equipment; and
- Regional travel restrictions are being eased.
For facilities in the Shire of Cuballing this means:
- the Shire Office remains open with social distancing required;
- community facilities including the Popanyinning Hall, the Cuballing CWA Hall, Cuballing Men’s Shed, will be able to be used but limited to a maximum of 20 patrons and social distancing is required;
- the Cuballing Agricultural Hall will also reopen when storm damage repairs are completed
- Playgrounds, Skate parks and the changerooms at the Cuballing Recreation Centre remain closed;
- Public toilets remain open.
Council Meetings return to in-person meetings from Wednesday 21st May 2020, but limited to a maximum of 20 people being present with social distancing. Because the required social distancing cannot be provided in the Council Chambers, the Council Meeting scheduled for Wednesday 21st May 2020 will be held in the Popanyinning Hall.
While health advice currently considers it safe to go out to public places that are open it is a requirement that you maintain good personal hygiene practices and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
